

William was born November 21, 1938 in Woodbridge, VA. He was a cherished son and brother, a devoted husband, and a loving father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his kindness to people and animals alike, his great sense of humor and inappropriate jokes, the stories of growing up in Woodbridge, VA, his strong work ethic as a Navy Veteran, security guard, and retirement from Fairfax County Water Authority, his love of old cars and motorcycles, and finally, the love he had for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by both parents (Ashton L. Sullivan and Elizabeth S. Burdette of Woodbridge, VA), a Baby Sister, his wife (Kathryn A. Rexrode Sullivan), former wife and cherished friend (Linda K. Ripley Sullivan Fisher), his son (Darren L. Sullivan) and his grandson (Ashton L. Sullivan).
He is survived by his sister (Patricia Dean of St. Augustine FL), his son (William Sullivan of TX), his son (Daryl “Tubby” Sullivan and his partner “Becky Palmer” of Stafford VA), his daughter (Sheila Sullivan and her partner “Tommy Harcharek” of Fredericksburg, VA), 3 grandchildren (Christopher Sullivan, Angela Elmore and William Carpenter), 5 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.
