In memory of Stephen “Steve” Neal Odell, we pause to celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched countless hearts with his kindness, and many roles as a husband, father, brother, grandpa, mentor, client, business leader, golfer, and friend of too many to count. His unwavering commitment to his wife Toni of over 45 years, his 4 sons, his daughter, and 3 grandchildren, a business, friendships, golfing pursuits, and his profound faith in Jesus was the core of his existence. May he rest in peace.
Steve spent over 55 years in the personnel recruiting industry, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of the candidates and clients he served. He established Odell and Associates, Inc. in 1973, which has since evolved into Odell Medical Search, with integrity and honesty always at the heart of its operations. Steve served as a four-time President of the Metroplex Association of Personnel Consultants (MAPC) and contributed 18 years of service on the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Personnel Consultants (TAPC). He earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious Norvel Locke Award for lifetime achievement, the highest honor attainable at the state level for the industry.
Reflecting on his journey, Steve wrote this to share with visitors on his company website, "What truly kept me invested was the realization of the profound impact my work had on the lives of the candidates and clients I served. I positively changed their lives for the better, facilitating increases in compensation and fostering a better quality of life or by introducing highly qualified candidates to my clients that they would not have found on their own.”
In his legacy, Steve's compassion, integrity, and tireless commitment to service will be cherished and remembered by all whose lives he touched. We offer our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, colleagues, and the countless individuals who were fortunate to have crossed paths with him.
He is survived by his wife Marie “Toni” Antoinette (Gautreaux) Odell, his sons Richard “Rick” Odell, Ryan Morton Odell, Eric Michael Odell, Brad Matthew Odell, daughter Angie (Odell), Grandchildren Megan Odell, Kelsey Kepler, and Jackson Bowen.
