Billy Fred Broetz

Billy was born on September 21, 1934, in Palacios, TX to William and Sylvia Pounder Broetz. At the age of 17, he joined the US Marines and served in Guam during the Korean War and served 3 years until his discharge in 1956. Soon after his military service, he went to work as an over the road truck driver and worked for over 40 years before his retirement. He drove over 1 million miles in his career. He moved several times before landing in the Fulton area.

He is survived by his children, William Fred (Linda) Broetz of Phoenix, AZ, Karen Broetz Dawson (Gary) of Thompson, MO, Connie Broetz of Mexico, MO, and Dr. Marla Broetz of Utah; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. He was preceded in death by one brother, four sisters, and his parents.
