Carmolee Isabelle Cornick

Carmolee was born on November 30, 1926, in High Gate, MO the daughter of John and Sarah Eliza (Satterfield) Stumpf who preceded her in death. On January 8, 1944, she was united in marriage in St. James, MO to John Donald “Don” Cornick who preceded her in death on August 8, 2006. Her and John were instrumental in building Callaway County Senior Center. After it was built, she proudly worked several years at the door greeting everyone and also feeding the feral cats. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Fulton, MO. Carmolee also was a sales rep for over 50 years for Stanley Home Products, hosting hundreds of parties throughout Callaway County.

Carmolee along with her siblings, Corrinne and Clifford, and her husband, Don were professional singers known as the Sagebrush Serenaders. They started singing on various radio stations such as KTTR – Rolla, MO, KWTO – Springfield, MO and KMOX – St Louis, MO. They also sang on various tv shows such as Korns – A – Krackin out of Springfield, MO, which was a weekly show and then on Red Foley’s show, Ozark Jubliee. Besides her love for singing, she also enjoyed quilting, gardening flowers and spending time with her family. Being a grandmother was a very important role she played, and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include: one son, John Cornick (Cary) of Blue Springs, MO; two grandchildren, James Cornick (Kimberly) and Jessica Anderson (Tyler) and six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Cornick, Audrey Cornick, Josie Anderson, Isaac Rubio and two twin great-granddaughters due at the end of July. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Clifford Stumpf and Corrinne Stumpf.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Southside Baptist Church in Fulton, MO. Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Tyler Murphy officiating. Private family burial was held in High Gate Baptist Cemetery in High Gate, MO.
