Clifford Lee Barnes

Clifford was born on October 13, 1947 in a log cabin in Embree, MO the son of Eugene and Dicie (Strong) Barnes. He worked at Fulton State Hospital for 33 years as Biggs Nursing Supervisor, retiring in 2000. After retirement, he spent his time playing golf, shooting pool, working on his “old Bronco”, hunting, fishing and spending time laughing with friends and family. Cliff also enjoyed his yearly road trip to Louisiana and Mississippi to attend the Crawfish Festival.

Survivors include: his wife, Carol Elley; three children, Tenna Barnes, Eugene Barnes and Steven Elley (Jenny); five grandchildren, Kristenna Davis, Justin Connors, Payton Connors, Taylor Elley and Austin Elley; three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh McClurg, Karalee Davis and Kennedee Davis; Tenna and Eugene’s mother, Wanda Myers along with many other family members and friends that will miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Barnes and one sister, Patty Sue Jurith.

Private graveside service will be held on April 7, 2023 at 11:00am at Dutch Chapel Cemetery in Plato, MO.
