Edith May Reese

Edith was born on March 24, 1931, in Warren County, MO; the daughter of Herman and Matilda (Meine) Wegener who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on October 17, 1953, in Warrenton, MO to Arlie W. Reese who preceded her in death on September 19, 2002.

Edith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, and after her children were grown, she worked as a secretary at the Callaway County Chamber of Commerce and a local car dealership. Arlie and Edith enjoyed attending their children's school and band events, and after retirement they spent time traveling and camping throughout Missouri and the Midwest. She was a member of Fulton United Church of Christ, Callaway Senior Center, 50 Plus Club and Book Club. In later years, Edith enjoyed reading and doing word find puzzles.

Survivors include: two daughters, Karen Riley (Kent) of Albuquerque, NM and Joyce Reese (Jim McClaren) of St. Louis, MO; twin brother, Edgar Wegener (Frances) of Cherokee, KS; two grandchildren, Daniel Riley (Andrea) and Caitlin Pfeifer (Eric) and five great-grandchildren, Lucas, Alaina, Eva, Madeline and Nicholas. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Church and brother, Arlie H. Wegener.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Debo Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Warrenton Cemetery in Warrenton, MO.
