James Drowns

James was born on May 8, 1978, in Des Peres, MO the son of James and Diane (Myers) Drowns. He is survived by his loving wife, Melinda Hopsecker; daughters Aurora, Skylar, and Addison; and a grandson expected in August. He was preceded in death by his parents, and both sets of his grandparents.

A man of many talents, JR loved drawing, tinkering, playing frisbee golf or penny poker with friends and family. Life threw him a curveball—he lost part of his leg and used a wheelchair—but his spirit never wavered. If anything, JR drove his life and loved ones forward with even more determination.

He loved Melinda (Mindy) and their girls, always working on something creative, always sharing his love. His humor, his drive, and his passion left a profound mark on everyone who knew him.

A celebration of JR’s life will be held after his grandson’s arrival in August, so family and friends can come together to remember and honor his legacy.

JR’s spirit—resilient, loving, and inventive—will forever live on in his family and friends
