It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of JW Wills, born September 24, 1955, in California to Patricia and John Wills. He passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2026, at the age of 70. He grew up in Tulsa before moving to Missouri in the 1980s, where he raised his family and spent the rest of his years.
JW spent much of his life doing the things he enjoyed most — fishing, mechanic and body work, and sharing time with his wife, Brenda, whom he married on October 23, 1979, in Tulsa. He was funny when the moment struck, enjoyed having a good time, and appreciated the simple things in life and never minded lending a hand when someone needed it.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Brenda; his son, James, and grandchildren Jamie and Tristan; his daughter in law, Rikka, and his bonus grandchildren Jacob, Skyler, Kaylee, Tanner, and Autumn; and his daughter, Angela, and her husband, Derek, and their children Abriana, Aubrey, and Darius. He is also survived by his sisters, Joan Barrett and Jean Dodson, both of Oklahoma; his sister in law, Lisa Trams, and her husband, Paul; his brother in law, Larry Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
JW was preceded in death by his parents; his brother John; his brothers in law Jimmy Johnson, Johnny Johnson, and Ronnie Johnson; and his in laws, Bessie and Merle Johnson.
He donated his body to science to help others, honoring his wish to continue giving even after his passing.
The family will gather privately to remember him.
He will be deeply missed.
