She was born on September 11, 1957, to Charles and Audrey Keune. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. Janice then continued her education to obtain her degree in nursing. She would later earn her CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nursing). Janice dedicated 40+ years as an ICU nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri.
On June 25, 1983, she married Bennie Robertson and they have enjoyed 43 years together. The family has many memories of vacations, attending important events, and just her being a loving mom and wife.
Janice had a strong passion for protecting the environment while supporting The World Wildlife Fund and the local humane society.
She loved her charity work, especially supporting the Food Bank of Columbia, True North Women’s Domestic Violence Shelter, and Girl’s Town.
Spending time with her grandchildren brought her great joy; including watching them play sports and attending school functions and recitals. She always looked forward to gathering times with her family.
Her family remembers her for her compassionate soul, empathetic heart and for always thinking of others. She was truly selfless and always there to lend a hand or an open ear to listen.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lance Keune.
Survivors include her husband, Bennie Robertson; her children, Andrew Robertson, Shawn Robertson, Brittany (Jeffrey) Gemming, and Ashley (Beau) Distler; seven grandchildren, Madelynn, Caiden, Easton, Roxanne, Kyler, Jameson, and Jaydan; sisters, Susan (Rick) Zweifel and Mary (Bob) Gramlich; many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Celebration of Life Services are set for 11:30 AM on Wednesday September 9, 2026, at Debo Funeral Home (10920 Old Hwy 54 North Holts Summit, MO 65043) with a visitation from 9:30-11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Summit Memorial Park.
