Jewell Hansen, 97, of Kenosha, Wisconsin passed away on September 3, 2019 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri in the presence of her niece’s family( Stephanie and Edward ”Ted” Ennis). She has lived in Lee’s Summit for a little more than 3 years in the care of the Ennis family (Stephanie, Ted, Teddy & Lauren). Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton. The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Jewell was born in Guthrie, Missouri on December 6, 1921 to the late Clarence and Lena Weffenstette. She was married to George Hansen and one of their favorite pastimes was spending time at their Lake of the Ozarks home with family and friends. They spent many patient hours in the boat trying to teach their children and friends tubing and waterskiing. Her other hobbies were cooking, sewing, gardening and hosting large family holiday gatherings. She worked most of her lifetime as a server at Ray Radigan’s Restaurant in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She had a strong Christian faith and was a Lutheran. Her greatest passion and source of pride were their children and grandchildren. Jewell was preceded in death by her son and only child, Johnnie Martin in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Hansen and her sisters, Lillian Handlang Kelling, Ardrey Quinn, Clarice Mosnick and Opal Payne as well as nephews and niece, Milton Handlang, Gary Handlang, Jim Quinn, Bev Mosnick and Nathan Quinn. She is survived by her step-daughters, Nora Hansen Dygon (Paul) and Terri Hansen Hart (Steve Hart). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Debra Martin McCollom (Dan), Christopher Martin, Jordan Dimmer(Kristin), Luke Mason and Susan Melchor(Hector), as well as several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Bernice J. Miller of Lake Ozark, Missouri and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
