Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery near New Bloomfield, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2016 at the funeral Home.
Joe was born November 16, 1930 at home in New Bloomfield to Joe Shelby and Lydia Heinsohn Boyce who preceded him in death. He was married to Mary Lou White on December 19, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death in 2015.
He attended Center School and New Bloomfield High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Dixie Christian Church.
Joe was a fourth generation farmer and rancher on his land in the Tebbetts and New Bloomfield area. He had also worked in the construction business and owned Boyce Well Drilling and Pump Service.
He enjoyed woodworking and dancing but will be most remembered for his love of visiting with his family, friends and neighbors.
Joe is survived by his son, Joey (Terri) Boyce of Tebbetts; daughter, Janda ( Bryan) Coursey of New Bloomfield; grandchildren, Lance Coursey, Cherise Boyce and Cameron Boyce; great-grandson Matthew Coursey along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Elroy Kersh, Hal Kersh and Jim Boyce and sisters, Mabel Davis and Annie Landers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dixie Christian Church or Williams Cemetery both in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
