Mary Josephine Carey

Mary was born October 26, 1936 in Fostoria, OH, the daughter of Ellis and Twila (Hawkins) Nycum who preceded her in death. She was married on October 9, 1954 in Clyde, OH to James Carey who preceded her in death in 2014. Jim's construction work took them to many places, but they eventually settled in Fulton, Missouri. Together, they had three daughters, Teresa, Kim and Jamie. Mary retired from Fulton State Hospital in the housekeeping department after several years of service.

Survivors include: her three daughters, Teresa Carey, Kim Carey and Jamie Humphreys (John) all of Fulton, MO; two sisters, Judy Tucker and Linda Mooney of Ohio; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by one sister, one brother and one great granddaughter.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Debo Funeral Home from 1:30 pm – 2:00 pm. Funeral service will be will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt Carmel Cemetery in Fulton, MO.
