January 19, 1954March 16, 2020

Michael Ray McDonald, 66, Holts Summit, MO passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at his residence in Holts Summit, MO.

Michael was born on January 19, 1954 in Fulton, MO the son of Clarence and Kathryn (Kresl) McDonald who preceded him in death. He retired from the Fulton State Hospital as a security officer.

Michael was an avid nature lover who took any chance he could to get out amongst it. His children have fond memories of walking the river or bluffs in Mokane, exploring caves, hunting geodes or arrowheads, and just enjoying peaceful walks in nature. Michael also loved getting out and riding his beloved Harley with his friend, Ed.

The only thing Michael loved more than nature was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he was so extremely proud of. He couldn’t pass up an opportunity to brag on any accomplishments that they made.

Survivors include: two daughters, Nicole Plaster (Gus) of Fulton, MO and Brenna Lowell of Mexico, MO; two sons, Devon McDonald and Jeremiah McDonald both of Holts Summit, MO; one brother, Glenn McDonald (Jill) of Fulton, MO; one sister, Joyce Meyer (Bruce) of Mokane, MO; sister-in-law, Betty McDonald; four grandchildren, Quentin and Lily Plaster, Haleigh and Isabelle Lowell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Rippeto (Billy) and Doris Kay Masek and two brothers, Oliver McDonald and Larry McDonald.

Private graveside services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 in Steedman Cemetery in Steedman, MO with Rev. Mike Crowson. Due to the present healthcare precautions there will be a public memorial service set at a later date.

I went to South Call away with Mike and also worked at Fulton State Hospital with Mike. We used to be neighbors and we're close when we were very young. He was a great guy.

I remember watching the boys while he worked when we lived on East 6th Street and my kiddos were little. Him and Clint worked at Biggs together for a bit. McDonald's have never been good about staying in contact with each other. I really wish we would have. Prayers for all! ((Hugs)) and love!
