Michael Palmer

Michael was born on August 2, 1959 in St Joseph, MO the son of Clarence and Bonnie (Wieser) Palmer who preceded him in death. On January 20, 1984 he was united in marriage to Linda Lechner in Fulton, MO. He worked at Fulton State Hospital as a security officer for several years, before retiring in 2012. Michael was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Fulton, MO, where he helped out on various committees and functions, such as men’s breakfast, Awana’s, score keeper for basketball league and was a Sunday School helper. He also enjoyed playing pool, cooking and horseback riding. However, his greatest passion was being a grandpa and spoiling his grandchildren any chance he got. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda Palmer of the home; two sons, Darrel Wilmsmeyer (Manda) and Melvin Wilmsmeyer both of Fulton, MO; one daughter, Donna Landers (Mike) of Fulton, MO; eight grandchildren, Audrey Wilmsmeyer (Derek Todd), Levi Wilmsmeyer, Laci Wilmsmeyer (Dylan), Brooke Phillips (Drew), Chase Phillips (Emma), Rylee Landers, Dalton Ford and Jaedon Ford of Fulton, MO; three great-grandchildren, Faith Onstott, Haven Onstott, and Elizabeth Crowder of Fulton, MO; three brothers, Larry Palmer, Paul Palmer and Jimmy Dale all of St Joseph, MO; sisters, Donna Cunningham (Bobby), Roberta Good (Dale) of St Joseph, MO; brother-in-law and his family, Alfred Lechner, Hannah Thomas (Caleb), Holden Lechner (Dakota) and Paige Lechner.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at Southside Baptist Church in Fulton, MO with Rev. Tyler Murphy officiating.
