Phyllis Lorraine Rodecape

Phyllis was born on November 18, 1933 in Callaway County, MO the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Gentry) Gowin. She was married on April 5, 1953 in Fulton, MO to Harry Rodecape. She was a faithful member of Court Street United Methodist Church in Fulton, MO, where she was a member of the board of trustees. Phyllis worked for The Callaway Bank from 1956-2000 where she held many positions before retiring as a bank officer. Her longtime career was highlighted in two publications, A lifetime of Achievement volume II (2023) and Who’s who in Americas 74th addition (2021). Phyllis was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and volunteered for the Fulton Chamber of Commerce. She held the role of secretary-treasurer with the American Red Cross for many years. Phyllis was always dedicated to her family, church, and community. Her passion though, was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended every activity from academic to sporting events and played a major role in nurturing and mentoring them all, they became her pride and joy. In her later years she most looked forward to having dinner every Wednesday with her youngest great-grandchildren, Freddy, Carson, Blake, and Patrick. She also enjoyed cross stitching, playing cards and scrabble.

Survivors include: her daughter, Stephanie Davis (Dean Buffington) of Fulton; one sister, Karol Sapp (Lawrence Sapp) of St. Louis; one sister-in-law, Norma Gowin of Fulton; five grandchildren, Jeff Davis (Shannon Davis), Stacy Davis-Alley (Mark Alley), Katie Davis (Javier Palacios), Kevin Alverson and Karissa Harbit; 11 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bertha Gowin (Gentry); husband, Harry Rodecape; son, Douglas Rodecape; an infant sister; brother, Kersey “Bud” Gowin and grandson- in- law, Mark Alley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, MO.
