We meet at Church and he quickly stole the hearts of my grandchildren. Russ became not only a friend but part of our family. We loved having him to come out of dinners and shooting guns with my kids. I enjoyed making him lemon pies.
I finally got up the nerve to tell my Elizabeth, 6 years old , that Russ had passed. She loves him so. Her response fills my heart.
I told her that Russ passed away and Jesus took him home. She was quite and almost crying when she stopped and said ...Alright wait a minute...Alright wait... My Russ went to Jesus....My Ron is there... Right? I said yes that’s right. She was crying a little and said okay it okay. We will see them when Jesus calls us home. I miss them but it’s okay.

He was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He always made me feel welcomed at church. This breaks my heart. I will think of him often and he’ll never die. So sorry for the family and friends’ loss. I will keep you in my prayers.
