Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Agatha Grace Mastoras Hamme, 92, who passed away June 8, 2013. Pastor Johnny Johnson will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Agatha was born May 23, 1921 in Gadsden, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Minnie Mastoras, her three sons, Harry, Butch (Eric) and Frank Hamme and daughter-in-law, Sheila Hamme.
She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1939. She enjoyed helping her family run their restaurant “The White Palace Café.” She once owned Dianne’s Floral Shop and later worked at Ferguson’s and Abbey’s Florist on the mountain. Agatha made beautiful arrangements up until her recent illness.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Raines Hamme, Glencoe, grandchildren, Todd Hamme, Stafford, VA, Lori (Shawn) Moore, Williamsburg, VA, Erica (Zac) Skidmore, Gadsden, Crystal (Tyiler) Sims, Attalla and Dillon Hamme, Gadsden, great grandchildren, Sienna Hamme, Ericken, Lauren, and Gracie Moore, Daniel, Isabella, Kate and Gabby Kiani, Tony and Mason Sims, cousins, Danny and Gina Cornwell, Laura and Daniel Cornwell and kind friend Danny Little.
Special thanks to Gadsden Regional Hospital 6th floor nurses, ICU nurses, Dr. Steve Sanders, Dr. Asif Kaleem, Dr. Bennett, Jamie Derochea, Shannon Rasool and Beth Cash, Coosa Valley Health Care, Karen, Lance, Stephanie, Jessie, Robin, Neil, Danny, Christy and everyone else that took time to visit and love her.
Pallbearers will be Dillon Hamme, Tyiler Sims, Zac Skidmore, Daniel Kiani, Danny Little and Danny Cornwell.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation labeled “missions” to one of the following churches in Memory of Agatha Hamme; Rainbow Presbyterian Church; Gadsden Christian Fellowship or Free Life Church of Boaz.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
