Memorial Celebration for Alice (Sally) Marie Armstrong, age 80, will be on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, Gadsden, AL. Father Carl Saxton will officiate the service.
Married in 1957 to Dewey Thomas Armstrong (Altoona, AL) they traveled around the country during Dewey’s service in the U.S. Air Force before settling in Altoona, AL in 1973. Alice (Sally) was very active in her church and was dedicated to the welfare of mentally challenged people. She served for many years as the Chairman of the Board of the Episcopal Kyle Home in Gadsden. The Sally Armstrong home bears her name due to her dedication to this cause.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dewey and her daughter, Kelly.
She is survived by her daughter, Shawn (Genesee Depot, WI) and her son, Greg (Altoona, AL), her nephew, Terry Armstrong (Altoona, AL) and sister-in-law, Jean White (Thomaston, ME) and many other extended family members.
