Ava Sue Kelley

Funeral service for Ava Sue Kelley, age 91, of Southside, AL will be at 12:30PM on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Collier Butler Funeral Home with Mr. Lauil Thompson officiating the service. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

Ms. Kelley passed away on Tuesday July 19, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Kelley; her parents, James and Zula Mae Pentecost; sister, Fay Findley; brothers, Lafon Pentecost, Saxton Pentecost, Edwin Pentecost; and son-in-law, Michael Gargone.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Melissa Gargone; son, Perry (Pat) Kelley; grandsons, Jared (Joni Prater) Williams, Jacob (Beth) Kelley, Jesse (Lindsey) Kelley, and Dillon (Jodi) Gargone; granddaughter, Dezarae (Tony) Harper; brother, Wade Pentecost; sister, Jo Ann (Lawrence) Martin; great grandchildren, Reece Kelley, James Kelley, Khoen Gargone, Ava Ray Kelley, Andi Kate Kelley, and Brynnlee Gargone.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.

Sue was a native of Calhoun County and graduated from Alexandria High School. She has been a resident of Etowah County for more than sixty years.

She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Southside Baptist Church Homebound Ministries.
