Barbara Burgess Harper

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 45 years Charles E. Harper, her parents Charles and Rebecca Burgess, brothers Frank, Charles Jr., and Clarence, and sisters Pauline, Alene, and Andy Jo.

She is survived by daughters Kathy Diener and Amy Khan (Jawed Khan), grandchildren Claudia, Eva and Imran, and certainly not least, by her faithful companion and friend Abby, her dog.

Barbara lived most of her life in Gadsden and the surrounding areas before moving to Knoxville to be closer to family after the passing of her husband. Barbara was a member of Bachelor’s Chapel Baptist Church in Hokes Bluff. And at the time of her death, attended Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Knoxville. Barbara was a kind and humble woman. She was strong in her faith and her love of God. She had made peace with this world and was ready to enter the next.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Bachelor’s Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Shannon Caudle will officiate. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm at the church prior to the service.
