Barbara Bohannon Stiefel

Barbara Bohannon Stiefel, age 81, lifelong resident of Southside, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Funeral service will be at 11 AM, Monday, September 27, 2021 at Collier Butler Chapel with visitation prior, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Bros. Harold Coe and Kenneth Bohannon will officiate. Burial will be at William Southside Cemetery. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.

Barbara was a graduate of Southside High School. She had worked many years at Kmart deli and Burton's deli. She was a lifelong member of Green Valley Baptist Church. Barbara loved her family and church family. She loved going on trips and making holidays fun for family and friends. She especially loved watching Laney and Colby play ball.

She is preceded in death by her husband Herman Stiefel; parents Louie and Gladys Bohannon; brothers Ray and Roger Bohannon; sister Francis Matlock Snell; beloved nephew Daniel Seckel; granddaughter Alexis; and other close family members.

She is survived by her children, April Hawkins and Angela Perrin; grandchildren Carrie, Justin, Blake, and Tiffany; Brother Kenneth (Charlotte) Bohannon; sister in law Vicki Eller; chosen children Jim (Kristi) Matlock, Linda Bishop, Will Bohannon, Joy Bohannan, Paula (Fred) Sington, Rob ( Diane) Bohannon, Rick (Leslie) Bishop, Kendra (Ryan) Tolleson, Chris Bohannon, Matt Matlock, Tyler Matlock; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and chosen grandchildren Laney and Colby Bishop.

Her family will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Whitley, Willis, and Thomas and Delana Hall.

Flower will be accepted or memorials may be made to Green Valley Baptist Church.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Encompass Home Health and especially her beloved nurse Jennifer Clay, who she thought of as part of the family.
