

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, January 7, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Gadsden for Mrs. Betty Ayres, 77, of Gadsden. The Revs. Ken Casey and Harvey Beck will officiate. Entombment will follow at Forrest Cemetery Mausoleum. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will be directing.
Mrs. Ayres passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
She was born on November 12, 1935, in Pickens, South Carolina, to Hoyt Seymour and Marion Sheridan Bryan. Mrs. Ayres was married to William Brian Ayres, Jr. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Gadsden where she was active in the Martin Sunday School Class and Circle #3. She was the past president of the Gadsden Service Guild.. Mrs. Ayres also enjoyed her time playing Mahjongg with the Happy Campers Group, where she was a member.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt Seymour and Marion Sheridan Bryan.
Mrs. Ayres leaves behind a husband, William Bryan Ayres, Jr.; two daughters, Susan (Ken) Ayres Griffin and Carol Ayres Roberts; and two grandsons, Tanner Ayres Roberts and Tyler Clay Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Roberts, Tanner Roberts, Frank Dreffman, David Goodwin, Howard Malone, and Alex Holtsford.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service in the parlor at First United Methodist Church in Gadsden.
