Betty J. Cushing

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday-May 7, 2010 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Betty J. Cushing, age 74 who died Tuesday-May 4, 2010. Pastor Elaine Hollmer will officiate with burial at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Cushing was a lifelong resident of Etowah County and of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful mother. Our family is forever changed because of her love and strength. She will be forever missed and loved beyond all measure. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Cushing, parents, Julius and Myrtle Sims, two brothers and four sisters.

She leaves behind six loving children, Van Gossett, Southside, Randy (Susan) Gossett, Southside, Angela (Kenneth) Brown, Rainsville, Tina (Joe) Ruzicka, Acworth, GA, Julia Michelle McKerley, St. Augustine, FL and Terry Weaver, Gadsden. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, sister, Mildred Stone, St. Petersburg, FL and Joan Paige, St. Petersburg

Pallbearers will be Scott Hanks, Joseph Gossett, Joseph Bone, Mark Sims, Keith Long and Jason Tanner

Honorary Pallbearers will be the precious angels who work for Amedysis Home Health and Amedysis Hospice. We appreciate all their help and kindness and compassion.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home
