

Funeral services will be on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in the Collier-Butler chapel for Betty Jo Beaird-Lawley, 85, who passed away in Huntsville on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Frank and JoAnn Bugg. The Reverend Mike Hengle of Parkway Community Church will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Lawley was born and raised in Gadsden, AL with her two older brothers, Curtis Limbaugh (deceased) and Bob Limbaugh of Gadsden. She was born March 6, 1927 to Thomas J. and Etta Catherine (Reed) Limbaugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband of 33 years, Jack Beaird. She was also preceded in death by her second husband of 9 years, Jack Lawley and her very special friend, Herschel Smith.
Betty Jo was attending Emma Samson High School when a friend introduced her to Jack Beaird. He called her that very night. While they were dating he entered into the service of the Country in WWII. After the war they were married and Jack joined the Air Force. Betty was a devoted wife and mother to their three children. The family enjoyed tours in Germany and France and several locations throughout the US during his 20 years in the Air Force. After the children graduated from school, and Jack retired from the Air Force, she went to work for Belk’s, where she became Head of Security until she retired. She lived on Noccalula Mountain in Gadsden for forty years, until she moved to Regency Point in Rainbow City in 2009. She enjoyed two very happy years there with old friends and new until she took ill and moved to Huntsville for the final year of a life well lived.
She leaves behind three children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, son, Michael Beaird and wife Deborah of Huntsville, daughter JoAnn Bugg and husband Frank of Huntsville, and son Gregory Bearid of Denver, CO., granddaughters, Katherine Sellers of Decatur, Jennifer(Beaird) Curl of Huntsville, and Tara Beaird of Birmingham and grandsons, Matthew Beaird of Gadsden, Jason Beaird of Gadsden, and great-granddaughter Lila Ann Curl of Huntsville, and great-grandsons Evan Curl of Huntsville and Ethan Beaird of Gadsden and Many other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Parkway Community Church, 223 Parkway Place Gadsden, and AL 35904
The family will receive friends from 10:30a.m.-12:30p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
