

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Bill W. Teague, 73, of Gadsden, who passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Dr. Jay Stewart and Brother John Templeton will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Services is directing.
Mr. Teague was a 1961 graduate of Emma Sansom High School and was employed by Temple electric for 37 years. He loved spending time with his family and working. He was a faithful servant to the Lord and was a member of Dwight Baptist Church for 36 years. During that time, he was a member of the church choir and the sound board operator. He loved the Crimson Tide. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend of many with a gentle spirit and kindred soul. He was a man of constant giving, wanting nothing in return. He loved life, making people happy and had an overwhelming love for his 6 grandchildren. Bill and his wife were the loves of each other’s lives He was a hero and a gentle giant to his children.
Mr. Teague was preceded in death by his parents: Roscoe & Myrtle Teague and Walter & Winifred McDowell; sisters, Mary Lou Story and Vivian Osgood; father-in-law, George Cline; Stepfather-in-law, R.E. Langley; and stepbrother, Jerry Helton.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce Teague; children, Kelly (Tim) Robertson, and Chris (Candy) Teague; Grandchildren; Lauren Kirkland, Dalton Robertson, and Ethan Teague; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Erik and Peyton Rule; mother-in-Law, Ozella Langley; step-mother, Delores McDowell; half-brother, Walter F. McDowell; half-sister; Sue Smith; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his brothers in Christ and dear friends; Gary Graves, Jerry Rogers, Gerald Nelson, Joe Logan, Tyler Barnes, Greg Fails, Kim Gilbert and Larry Bellamy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dwight Baptist Church New Life Center.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
