A memorial visitation for Billy will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901. Following the memorial visitation will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901 with Rev. Vaughn Stafford officiating. A private burial will be at New Bethel Cemetery, Hokes Bluff.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Hokes Bluff, AL to James Houston Jenkins and Ruby Jewel Alford Jenkins. He was a 1962 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School where he played basketball. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 33 1/2 years of service and then worked at Home Depot with 21 years of service.
Mr. Jenkins was blessed with the gift to gab and never met a stranger. He was also an avid Alabama Fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jenkins and brothers, Glenn, Jackie and Roy Jenkins.
Survivors include his children, Lisa Davis, Rhonda (Jerry) Kirchoff, Anthony (Anita) Jenkins and Randall (Shea) Jenkins; grandchildren, Ethan Davis, Andrew, Ainsley and Alex Kirchoff, Joseph (Siehra) Wright, Chandler Jenkins, Makaleigh Cortes, Ashlyn Jenkins, Avery Jenkins, Jeorgie Mcsheridan, Madeline (Caleb) Cannon and Justin Jenkins, brother, Gary (Rhonda) Jenkins, sister, Glenna (Louie) Pollard and a host of nieces and nephews.
Special appreciation and heartfelt gratitude is extended to Doctors and Staff with Ascension St. Vincent's East Hospital; Birmingham East Rehab Center; Dr. John Morgan and nurse, Steve with home health.
The family will accept green plants or cut arrangements or In lieu of flowers, contributions in Billy's memory may be made to The American Diabetes Association, P O Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023 US.
