Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Mr. McGill was born January 24, 1932. He joined the Army National Guard in 1949 and served in the Korean War and received an honorable discharge in 1980. He was a lifelong resident of Gadsden. He was proud to be a soldier and serve God and his country. Bill was a strong man and was never still always working on something. He was a builder and could build or fix anything. He was a Jack of all Trades and the Master of “some”. Bill was the rock of our family and never turned anyone away that needed his help. He loved his Lord, Church and Family most of all. He loved his children and the grandkids had him wrapped around their finger from birth. They loved their Paw Paw.
This is so hard Bill. It was too soon. Wait for us, we are coming. Yes, Heaven is sweeter because of you.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jan Green McGill; children, Kim (Wayne) Jenkins; Kenneth Walker; Krista (Gary) Autwell and Shaela Simpson; brother, Jack McGill; grandchildren, Matthew England, Kara Howard and Andrew England, Matthew and Chad Bolton, Ashleigh Walker, Madison Autwell, Garrison Hunt, Gavin Miller, Grant Smith, Luke (Haley) and Maddy Jenkins; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Howard, Dalton Elliott and Zonie Jenkins and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Walker; Gary Autwell; Wayne Jenkins; Bobby John Hunt; Garrison John Hunt and Matthew England.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Amedisys Hospice staff: Kara Howard, Luke Small, Tyler Pence, Misty Williams, Kristen Hawk and Jamie Anthony.
