

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Mrs. Carolyn June (Mamaw) Humphries, age 82, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010. Rev. Eric House will officiate with burial to follow at Altoona Walnut Grove Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Humphries was a longtime resident of Gadsden and member of East Gadsden Baptist Church. She attended Altoona High School. She was a full time mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Carolyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She always kept her family laughing. Her humor, great smile and love of life was a testament to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Boonie” Humphries; parents, Sessel and Maude Davidson; brother, Paul Davidson; daughter, Jenny Wadkins; and son-in-law, Gerald Lowman.
She is survived by daughters, Becky Lowman, Cathy (Kim) Gilbert and Carol (Aaron) Wasser; grandchildren, Keith (Connie) Lowman, Scott Lowman, Jeff (April) Gilbert, Jennifer Gilbert, Jon David Gilbert, Melissa Stewart, Melanie Stewart, Gina Taylor(Chris McAfee), Tiffany Dillard and Patrick Thomason; great grandchildren, Dax Lowman, Stephen Taylor, Alix Thomason, Skylar Dillard, Aliah Gilbert, Anna Gilbert, Abby Gilbert, Gage Lowman and Cole Baugh; great great grandchildren, Skylie and Isaiah Taylor; sisters, Linda Walker, Sue Kelly and Patty Mayo ;sisters-in-law; Dot Davidson, Sue Brown, Juanita Humphries and Nadine Humphries; brother-in-law, Bill Wood; as well as several nieces, nephews and special friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Attalla Healthcare, Gadsden Healthcare and special caregivers, Ellie, Bobbie and Jeanette for assisting us in her care. Also thanks to the 5th floor nurses at Riverview Regional Medical Center.
