

Going home celebration will be at 1pm Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Collier Butler Chapel with Pastor Joey Hannah officiating. Collier Butler Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements
Carolyn, also known as Mawmaw , Maw and Sis, grew up in Gadsden, Alabama. She was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, and a member of Union #3 Baptist Church.
When we think of her, we will remember a woman who was a fierce Prayer Warrior who lived her life in a way that was pleasing to the Lord. She was kind, loving, and compassionate and will be missed on this earth every day, but we will take comfort in knowing that she has now has a perfect body and is praising our Lord and Savior while breathing with ease in His Heavenly Presence.
She was preceded in her journey to Heaven by her parents Joe and Flora Hamby, sister Judy Gail Gibson, sister Helen Stanley Sweetin, brother Joseph Carlton Hamby and nephew Michael Sweetin.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Wooten, Don Wooten (Amy), and Crystal King (Johnny). Grandchildren Harvey Wooten, Chris Wooten, Lauren Wooten, Briley Tidwell, Courtney Tidwell, Brook Akridge, and Christian Whitlock, Ashley Grayham and Andy Johnson. She had 17 great grandchildren with one on the way. Her surviving siblings are Gerald Whitt (Sally), James Hamby (Dianne), and Gennene Dover (Eric).
Pallbearers will be David Dover, John McGinnis, Tripp Stedham, Briley Tidwell, Christian Whitlock,
and Jody Hamby.
Honorary pallbearers are Adam Thornton, Dennis Patterson, and spiritual leaders of Union #3 Baptist Church in Hokes Bluff, AL.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1pm Saturday at Collier Butler Funeral Home.
