

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Charles W. Carr “Charlie” age 91 of Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015. Bro. John Dickenson and Bro. Bill Harbison will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Carr was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He retired from Redstone Arsenal. Mr. Carr enjoyed fishing, woodworking, painting, and crafts. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of East Gadsden Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Carr and sister, Kay May.
Mr. Carr is survived by his son, Tab (Teresa) Carr; daughter, Sandy Barron (Leif) Erickson; grandsons, Christopher Erickson and Brandon (Haniah) Carr; granddaughter, Stefanie Carr; great-grandson, Lennon Isaiah Carr; and sister, Betty (Bob) Adam.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Carr, Christopher Erickson, Scott Baker, Jordan Baker, Kenny Watts, and Ricky Armstrong.
Honorary pallbearers are all personal friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Gadsden Baptist Church.
Special thanks to Robin Bolin, Blake Summerford, Leah Harris, and all of the staff at Southern Care Hospice.
The family will accept friends Wednesday night from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
