Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Crestwood Cemetery for Charles Richard Kelley Sr., 88, who passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing. Mr. Kelley went from farming at age 16 to public works at Southern Manufacturing. He then went to Republic Steel, where he worked for 53 years as a welder. He retired at age 70. He loved country and bluegrass music and NASCAR racing. Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Frances Kelley.He is survived by his sons, Charles R. Kelley Jr. and James Earl (Jeanne) Kelley; grandchildren, James Richard (Amy) Kelley, Anna Kelley (Tyler) Bowen, Chara Kelley, Sabrina Kelley and Bobby Kelley; and several great-grandchildren.Special thanks to Dr. Johnny Wilburn, Super Bee Pharmacy and HM Hutchinson.The family will accept friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.Online condolences may be at www.collier-butler.com.
