Charles Hillard Tubb

Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church for Charles Hillard Tubb, 84, of Gadsden who passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Father Earl Gray Bean will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Tubb was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of the Army and Navy. He worked at Goodyear for 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents E.H. and Louise Tubb; and brother, Larry Tubb.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Aleene Watts Tubb; children, Sally (Mike) Beaird, Vann (Angela) Tubb, Mark Tubb, and Craig Tubb; grandchildren, Brittany Beaird, Blaine Beaird, Micah (Christy) Tubb, Lindsey Tubb, Heather (J.P.) Taylor, Justin (Whitney) Tubb, Amie (James) Davis; 8 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Mike Dawson; and special friend, Vernon “Bud” Parris.

Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.

Special thanks to Riverview Regional Medical Center; Noland Hospital in Anniston; and Gentiva Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday, prior to the service.
