She was a native of Talladega and a long time resident of Gadsden. Charlotte was a devout Catholic and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She received a Bachelors Degree in Art from the University of Alabama, a Masters Degree in Art History from Tulane University and a second Masters Degree in Art History from the University of New Orleans. Charlotte's work career was impressive: she worked as a stock broker for Merrill Lynch for 10 years; a curator at The Cabildo in New Orleans, LA; and as a librarian for the Alabama Library System in Mobile, Al and Gadsden, AL. Even with her considerable achievements in education and her careers, her greatest accomplishment was being a loving and devoted single Mom to her children. Charlotte was also an avid reader and enjoyed knitting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Marjorie Wallis, and her sister, Marjorie Wallis.
Charlotte is survived by her son Bart Chamberlain and his children, Nicholas and Zachary Chamberlain; daughter Christina Chamberlain Donahue and her husband Brian Donahue and their children Cameron and Lillian Donahue; and sisters Mary Klinar and Hellen Wallis.
There will not be a public service at this time; a memorial mass will be held at a later date.
