Clyde E. West

On 11 March 2015, Clyde E. West, 98, joined his wife, Audrey W. West, in Heaven. Clyde was always active and enjoyed a very long productive life. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on 14 March 2015 at Collier Butler Chapel. The Rev. Charles Beshears will officiate. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.

Clyde began his career in the Army during World War II and was a carpenter by trade. In his retirement years, Clyde enjoyed watching all sports, particularly Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball. Clyde will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Anne West Quinn (Dr. Randy Quinn), grandchildren Mandy (Dave) Poundstone, Nikki (Steve) Thygesen, and Brandt Quinn, and six great grandchildren: Anne, May Morgan, Mattie, Eric, Nick, Tate. He is survived by many nieces and nephews: Nancy Hopper, Bonnie Carr, Shirley Johnston, Jimmy Littlejohn, Cherie Clark, Jeanie Floyd, Sonny Thackerson, Peggy Whisenant, Carolyn Andrews, Linda Beavers, and Jane Gilbert. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Dean W. Manning, nephew Paul W. Manning, nieces Dr.Lynne Wright, Jacqueline Hinton, Lisa Garmany, eight great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Audrey W. West, brother-in-law William ‘Jack’ Wright, his parents, Elihue and Emma West, brothers, Seymour West Sr, Charlie West, Hubert West, sisters, Corine Littlejohn, Ruby Bradley, Sue Thackerson, and Eunice Wilson. Pallbearers are Wilburn Hunkapillar, Johnny McBurnett, Scott Williamson, Sonny Thackerson, Seymour West,III, and Paul Manning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one half hour prior to the service.
