Cody Reid Knight

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Cody Reid Knight, 30, of Gadsden, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. Brother Tommy Ferguson will officiate. Soloist will be Julie Smith. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Cody was born Feb. 14, 1988. He was the first pediatric liver transplant recipient at UAB in 1993.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Knight; grandparents, Gene and Nora Knight; and great-grandparents, Sidney and Hazel Woods, and Edith and Guy Shew.

Cody is survived by his mother, Dana (Billy) Billingsley; father, Terry (Cindy) Knight; sister, Chelsey (Kevin) Johnson; daughters, Brooklyn and Athena Knight; niece, Asylnn Johnson; nephew, Jace Johnson; grandparents, Reid and Martha Woods; uncle, Alan (Kristen) Woods; aunt Teri (Todd) Hathcock; special friend, Kimberly Holloway; and numerous cousins and friends.

The family will accept friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation.
