David Wayne Darnell

David Wayne Darnell, age 59, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Bro. Joe Nix will officiate. Burial will follow at Howelton Cemetery.

David attended Emma Sansom High School. He loved to work on cars. He could always make anyone laugh. David loved most of all to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was always willing to help anyone and never expected anything in return. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Auwon Earl Darnell and Mildred Darnell; brother, Robert Darnell; sister, Joan Gutierrez; and great nephew, Grayson Shoebridge.

David is survived by his wife, Billie Darnell; sons, Brandon (Magan) Darnell. T.C. (Megan) Reese, and Ehrich (Amy) Reese; grandchildren, Paislee Reese, Bella Darnell, Brady Kuhn, and two others; sisters, Judy (Don) Bacon and Linda Darnell; and a host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Darnell, Michael Darnell, Ryan Moore, Kaden Conley, Gavin Sipes, and Jason Nail.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Evans, Michael Jester, Dexter Suttle, Byron Lomnick, Travis Dobbs, Clay Sweatt, and Zane Kimbrough.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Kaleem and Dr. Bally.

The family will accept friends from 12:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Monday at the funeral Home.
