A visitation for David will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Dr. Chris Terrell will officiate. David will be laid to rest with military honors at the Alabama National Cemetery.
David proudly served in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He retired as a CW03 Warrant Officer.
He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Garland; his children, David Allen Garland, Carrie Garland, Kandi Garland, Kathy Bennett and Kimberly Martin; brothers, Ed Garland, Sonny McGraw; sisters, Sue Chambliss, and Judy Story; and his many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
