Debra Ann (Lear) Lister

Debbie was raised and spent her formative years in Rome, where she graduated from Model High School and excelled at playing the clarinet in band. Music was one of her greatest gifts. She learned to play the piano from her mother, and sang alto in the church choir for many years at Southside Methodist Church.

Her family was her greatest love and life’s work. She married her husband of 49 years, Roland Lister, on December 20, 1975, and moved to Southside, Alabama. They had three children and three adored grandsons.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lear and Laura Edwards Lear.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Roland Lister Jr.; her children, Jenny (Mathew) Moon, Philip Lister, and Jessica Lister (Adam Bulgatz); her grandchildren, Isaac Mathew Moon, Ian Henry Moon, and Miles Archer Moon; sisters Elaine (Charles) Brown, Kerri (Bruce) Watson, and Janet Poplin; a host of nieces and nephews, and her two beloved canine companions Gretchen and Max.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29th, from 12:00-1:00 at Southside Methodist Church, 2438 Cedar Bend Road N, Southside AL, 35907. A funeral service will follow at 1:00. She will be laid to rest at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Mathew Moon, Isaac Moon, Daniel Watson, Michael Watson, Ben Poplin, and Adam Bulgatz.
