Donald Roy Stephens

Donald Roy Stephens, age 83, of Southside, AL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Bro. Bud Swindall will officiate. Burial will follow at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. The family will accept friends from 2:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Don was a 1960 graduate of Southside High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 28 years. He loved his family more than anything, especially his wife whom he adored.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Louise Stephens; and brothers, Wayne Stephens, Tommy Stephens, and Hyram Stephens.

Don is survived by his wife, Shirley Stephens; brother, Mickey Stephens; sons, Greg (Darlene) Stephens, Tem Stephens, and Eric (Jennifer) Stephens; grandchildren, Daniel (Jessica) Kilgore, Cary (Lauren) Kilgore, Allen (Ashleigh) Kilgore, Savannah Stephens, and Langston Stephens; 10 great grandchildren; special nieces, Amanda Gifford and Allison Miller; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Kilgore, Cary Kilgore, Clay Gifford, Cam Gifford, Langston Stephens, Janson Alexander, and Banks Alexander.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice as well at the 5th floor staff at Riverview.
