Funeral services will be Monday, September 1, 2014 at 11am, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Dorothy Jean “Dot” Barnett, 86, of Glencoe, who passed away Saturday, August 30th, 2014. Blake Champion will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnett was a faithful member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church. She graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1947.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William J.C. Barnett; parents, Fate and Lizzie Jones; and sister, Lowell (Russell) Snow.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by her nephews, James L. Snow, Terry R. Snow, Michael K. Snow; niece, Brenda (Jimmy R.) Palmer; great-niece, Amy Snow; stepson, Charlie Barnett; step granddaughter, Carrie and Jerry Works II, along with their two children; and sister in law, Larue Jones.
Pallbearers will be members of Mrs. Barnett’s family.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. S. P. Sancheti, Jerry and the employees at Oak Landing Assisted Living, and the employees of Gentiva Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am, Monday, prior to the service.
