Funeral services will be Friday, July 13th, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., at Collier-Butler Chapel for Dorothy “Dot” Williamson Davis, 97, of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, July 9th, 2018. Rev. Philip Elliott and Rev. Larry Garrard will officiate. Interment will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.
“Dot” was born on September 4th, 1920 in St. Clair county Alabama to Dovie Drummond Williamson and Robert Allen Williamson. She met and later married Marion D. Davis in Talladega, AL on November 5th, 1938. She was a graduate of Gadsden Business College and worked many years as a secretary at B & T Pest Control and Cook’s Pest Control. She was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church and an original member of the 1st choir formed at Cherry Street Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dovie and Robert Williamson; spouse, Marion D. Davis; son, Max L. Davis; and sister, Bessie Williamson Lashley.
Survivors include her fur baby, Molly; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and James Nelson, Gadsden; grandchildren, Warren Davis and wife Elizabeth, McKinney, TX, Karen Hartline, Mobile, AL, Sharron Tan and husband Ryan, Myersville, MD, Zachary Davis, McKinney, TX, Renee Hartline, Ocean Springs, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Warren Davis, Ryan Tan, Dillon Tan, Robert Lashley, Gary Dunston, and Wayne “Butch” Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Cherry Street Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir, with whom she loved to sing praise to her savior, Jesus.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Harper, Dr. Oluwole Akisanya, the entire staff of Gadsden Health & Rehab Center, Erika Turner, RN, Kelly Maye, RN, Martha Clark, RN, Leisa Burchfield, RN, Watina Moore, RN, Tangie Martin, CNA, Ann Terry, CNA, Kimberly Cutler, housekeeper, and Southern Care Hospice and staff.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
