Dorothy Helen Snow

Dorothy Helen “Dot” Snow, age 86, of Hokes Bluff, AL went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Garrard and Rev. David Bankson will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, AL.

Dorothy was born in Gadsden, AL on March 30, 1938. She was a graduate of Gadsden High School. She married her sweetheart, Bobby Snow, on January 19, 1957. Dot loved to cook and she took great joy in feeding people. Her cakes were fantastic, all made from scratch. Her most requested creations were her 3-layer chocolate cake with “gritty” icing and her German chocolate cake. They were amazing! Dot was also an excellent seamstress. She loved to sew and could make anything. If she didn’t have a pattern, she would make her own. Dot was a faithful member of College Heights Baptist Church and loved her church family. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved us beyond measure. She lived out her faith by being a shining example of commitment and by serving others.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Danah Rutledge; siblings, Katherine Daniels, Hazel Stephens, Harold (Jean) Rutledge, Margaret Batchelor, Betty (Paul) Smith, and Lela Bankson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bobby Snow; sons, Terry (Lynn) Snow and Tony (Donice) Snow; grandchildren, Rebekah Hogsed and Katelyn (Blake) Stinson; great grandchildren, Tenley Hogsed, Taelyn Hogsed, and Vayda Stinson; sister, Mildred Marchman; special nephew, Larry Garrard; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews whom she loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Snow, Jimmy Snow, Jodie Marchman, Marv Snow, Marty Snow, and David Bankson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jim Runner.

Our family would like to extend a special thanks to mom’s caregivers who have become special friends, Lindsey Gray, Donna Richey, Brandy and Mark Williams, and Michelle Cosper.

The family will accept friends from 12:30 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Friday.
