I am so sorry to hear about Willy and Charles. Since I don’t live in Birmingham any longer, I’ve lost touch with everyone. This has been such a shock to hear this. It seems like it’s been one death after another for this family. I pray that Willy and Charles look upon us and walk with us everyday giving us guidance as they are angels now. Alan I pray that you keep your health up, and don’t give up on life. It won’t be long until each one of us will go through this painful parting ordeal. God wrap your arms around and console Jenny and Alan during this time of loss. I’m so sorry to hear this !

I am so sorry to read this! Dr. Bates was my doctor during her time in Smiths Station, Alabama. She took such good care of my daughter, Leah, and me. I loved her like family. I cried for years that she left, but I understood. Time with family is precious. My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends. May God be with you during this time.

My dearest friend and beloved Dr. , I'm heartbroken at 3:34 a.m. the day after your funeral. I just found out that you left us and I didn't get to say farewell. I know that heavens gates welcomed you as you were the truest of Christ's representatives we were blessed to have known and loved. We loved you the 1st day we met you and will never forget our long, late night conversations full of laughter, life, heartache and most of all love. You brought joy to everyone who TRULY knew you as you loved EVERY SINGLE patient with the care of a rare quality of healthcare and love for people that I've not seen in this lifetime. My Dr., my friend, my sister in silliness and laughter, I will miss you beyond words. The way you embraced Masina the moment you met told me you had a discerning spirit that could only be graced by God. Thank you for the love, laughter and tears we shared. As Dr. and patients and 2 aging ladies who still believed in honesty, loyalty and doing the right thing... even when it hurt. I'm glad to know you are with King Jesus, and your darling Charles who left us just 7 months ago. We will all miss you BUT we'll be along shortly as this life is a temporary home for all. God only knows how much you're loved and already missed. See you sister. Keep your eyes open for us. Love you always, Sissy and Masina Overstreet
