Eleanor Tolbert

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Eleanor Sue Tolbert, 75, of Gadsden, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Saturday, February 16, 2013. Rev. Norman Dye and Bro. Curtis Scott will officiate. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Tolbert was born March 30, 1937. She attended McCauley’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved music. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the El Senor Club with whom she enjoyed traveling and attending her senior weekend dances. Most of all, she loved spending time and traveling with her children and grandchildren. She celebrated life to the fullest and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee Tolbert Sr.; grandson, Steven Tolbert; parents, Harry and Nora Leverton; sisters: Doris Westcott, Marie Wells, and Martha England; sister-in-law, Mary Nell Leverton; and brothers-in-law, Fred Whitfield, and Mutt Westcott.

Mrs. Tolbert is survived by her sons: Harold Lee (Laura) Tolbert Jr., and Darryl Lane (Phyllis) Tolbert; daughters: Sheron Tolbert (Keith) Hunt, and Susan Tolbert (Mark) Davidson; grandchildren: Kevin (Leigh) Hunt, Tim (Wendy) Tolbert, Brandon (Amber) Davidson, Phillip (Erin) Hunt, Gary (Crystal) Tolbert, April (Jonathan ) Hollingsworth, Brandi (Shane) Campbell, Andrea (Dustin) Wilson, Nathan (Emily) Brown, Cristy Huff, and Tammy (Paul) Johnson; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, J.B. Leverton, Donald (Kathy) Leverton, Denny (Sharion) Leverton; sisters: Billie (Pete) Tolbert, and Helon Whitfield; and brother-in-law, Bill Wells, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Hunt, Tim Tolbert, Brandon Davidson, Phillip Hunt, Gary Tolbert, Nathan Brown, Jonathan Hollingsworth, Dustin Wilson, Shane Campbell, Landon Campbell, Dilan Kilpatrick and Paul Johnson.

Special thanks to the Nurses and staff of the 2nd floor ICU at Riverview Regional Medical Center, Dr. Courtney Lowe, Dr. J. Todd Cross, Dr. Luis Urbina, Dr. Charles Sirna, and Dr. John Carpenter.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
