

Eva Janice Jenkins, 77, of Gadsden, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. Born on August 22, 1948, Eva lived a life filled with creativity, love, and adventure. She was known for her remarkable talent as a painter, especially her cherished portraits. She spent countless hours expressing beauty through her art.
Eva also loved the simple joys of life: fishing on quiet days, cheering for Alabama football, and riding motorcycles alongside her beloved husband, James. The two shared many years of joy attending rallies together, creating memories that will be forever treasured.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Leola Terrell; her husband, James Jenkins; her daughter, Sherri Smalley; brothers Gene Terrell and William Terrell; sisters Jessie May, Ann Brown, and Carrie Louise Merrick; sister-in-law Glenda Garrard; and brother-in-law Kenneth Jenkins.
Eva is survived by her sisters-in-law Sara Herring and Linda Gibson, along with a loving host of nieces and nephews who will forever remember her warmth and generous spirit.
The family gives special thanks to her best friend Della, Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, and her devoted caregivers: Tina McCoy, Kasey Usry, Dollie Wass McCormick, Linda Gibson, and Julie McCoy. Their compassion, dedication, and friendship brought comfort and peace in her final days.
Pallbearers will be Parker Gutierrez, Timothy “Cracker” Swann, L’John McCoy, Leondre Robinson, Andrew Lee, Angel Serrano, Hunter Renfroe, Jayden Ingram, Kase Williams, Javonte Pope and Cruize Lee.
Visitation will be held Friday November 21, 2025, at 12:30 at Collier Butler Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00, with Teresa Chapman officiating. The family will have a private burial.
