Gail Coker Acker

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until noon at Rainbow Presbyterian Church.

Gail was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Rainbow Presbyterian Church. Her love for Jesus was the foundation of her life, and she was forever grateful for His sacrifice on the cross. She dearly loved attending church with her children and grandchildren and participating in her Sunday evening small group and Bible study.

Above all, Gail treasured her family, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved Lulu. She enjoyed talking with her friends on the telephone, gathering with her Tuesday night Cracker Barrel group, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Her nieces and nephews also held a very special place in her heart.

Gail loved traveling and shopping with Margaret, whom she considered to be more like a sister than a sister-in-law. She also shared many happy memories of ballroom dancing with her husband. Saturday mornings were especially dear to her when Andrew and the children came to visit, particularly when they brought Lulu.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Acker; parents, Bruner C. Coker and Audra Brumbeloe Coker; daughter, Susan Acker Womack and her husband, Eric; brothers, Shelton Coker, Clifton Coker, Clovis Coker, and Gerald Coker; and sister, Dortha Roberts.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Andrew A. Acker (Amanda); grandchildren, Savannah Firestone Lancaster (Jeff), Ethan Womack, Ally Nicole Acker, and Aiden Andrew Acker; great-grandchildren, Hensley, Cohen, and Marley Jo; brother, Billy Max Coker; adopted sister, Margaret; several beloved nieces and nephews; and her cherished Lulu.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rainbow Presbyterian Church or the American Diabetes Association.

The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice and to her caregivers, Rachel, Vicki, and Shonda, for the loving and compassionate care they provided.
