Mr. McSpadden was my music theory professor many years ago. He was a dear man and instrumental in my wife and I meeting in the music department all those years ago. I’m very sorry to hear that he passed. Until we meet again…

George was one of a kind.  He was a true talent in so many ways.  I recently had the opportunity to visit with him at the funeral of Ben Weaver and we reminisced about days gone by when I worked at FBC, Gadsden.  He asked about my children, Brent and Leanne and then he told me about you, Paul and Glen, and how much he enjoyed visiting with you on holidays.  He and your mom were always very special to me.  Praying for you.

George will be sorely missed.  When Glen married my daughter Angie, he spoke at the rehearsal dinner and I experienced the joy and love he gave to their union.  He was a wonderful husband to Carolyn and exemplified the true meaning of Christian spousal love.  George was a wonderful father and grandfather.  I have been blessed to know him. My deepest sympathies and prayers to the whole family.

George inspired me to expect more for myself as a musician and a person. I haven't seen him in years since I moved on from GSCC, but I will remember him always. May God comfort his family as they grieve their loss.

It was a privilege to work with George for over 33 years at Gadsden State. I never saw him without a smile on his face. What a talented GENTLEMAN he was. He was a nearby neighbor and we often visited as he rode his bike or walked around my block. I taught son Paul years ago...Sympathy to the family...

I am so sorry for your loss.  Mr. George was a sweet man so talented & dedicated.  NO one will ever make that pipe organ at FBC sound as magnificient as he did. And that sweet smile will ALWAYS be remembered. Heaven's choir is sounding sweeter with the addition of Mr. George and Billy "Rip" Reagan.

Forty two years since I sat in your class, and I still remember that big grin and your gentle manner. You taught me much more than music, and for that I will be forever grateful.

When my husband, Marion Causey, was minister of music at FBC in Gadsden he interviewed George at a music conference at Southwestern.  He was instrumental in getting George the organist job at FBC and in introducing him to members of the college.  He & George had a great relationship.  God bless you in your loss.

I always will remember Mr. McSpadden at the organ at FBC. I even would listen to his countless hours of practice for Sunday morning. Also I knew him from GSCC as I watched him help countless students begin their music degree. I also sat with him on Wednesday night at church where he would tell stories of his life and legacy. And he would tell what needed fixing at his house and he would say please check the flood lights on the way out as he left them burning a lot as he would come and go. THANK YOU MR. MCSPADDEN FOR YOUR LIFE AND HAPPINESS DOING THE LORDS WORK!!

Mr. Mac was such a talented, sweet, godly man. Forever smiling.
Tremendous joy to be around. An inspiration to our community, his church, family, friends, and students.

Although I did not know him well, I know he will be missed by this community. It is such an honor to be blessed by so many friends! He was such a respected and nice individual!

Paul, Glen and Family....Your Dad was such a positive example to so many young people and really all who knew him. I remember meeting him and Carolyn their first day in Gadsden in the hall by the Ladies' Parlor at FBC. I appreciate his love of music, his dedication to First Baptist, his unequaled teaching ability and his forever joy and laughter. George lived the Christian life every day. God bless.

If it wasn't for George, i would not be the man i am today. He made me want to be a better person and a better musician. He could always turn one of my thoughts so that i could see it from another point of view. Also he never forgot my name or my family after years of not seeing one another. He meant a World to me. He taught me more in one class than my whole college tenure. thank you

Mr. George was a very special person. I knew him because of being Mrs. Adams' neighbor and from dealing with her. He was always so sweet to check in on her and make sure she was ok. He was always the type of neighbor you wanted to have. He will be missed greatly.

Truly one of the best music theory teachers in my career.  He made learning a positive and enjoyable experience. My thoughts and prayers to the family during this time.

Mr. Mac was a very special man and everyone at Gadsden State will miss him greatly.  We are blessed to have known him and thankful that he chose GSCC to share his time and talents.  We are praying for his family and students.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a precious man. May God comfort the family and many friends of this wonderful man. He was not only a great musical example to his students, but more importantly, a Godly example. I am so thankful for the influence he had on Laney during his years at GSCC.

I was deeply saddened when I heard George had passed away. George lived next door to my aunt and uncle, Chester and Vera Adams. He always came over while I was visiting and  I always enjoyed talking with him. God bless your family during this difficult time.  You are in my prayers.
