Georgia Bottoms

Arrangements under the Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Georgia Carol Sims Bottoms, of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, November 29, 2010. The Rev. Harvey Beck will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Georgia was a member of Hokes Bluff First United Methodist Church and an active member of the United Methodist Women for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bottoms; parents, Edgar and Annie Laura Sims; brothers, Bruce and Earl Sims; and sisters, Dorothy Cassidy and Imogene Moore.

She is survived by her children, Barry (Cathy) Bottoms, Brent (Pam) Bottoms and Carla (Carl) Watson; grandchildren, Melanie (Jake) Schuler, Casey (Wes) McCreight, Lesley (Terry) Chance, Katie (Rory) Jones, Trent Bottoms and Cameron Watson; great grandchildren, Isaac and Anna Kate Schuler and Ian McCreight; sisters, Mariette Smith and Aileen (W.L) Thompson and special friend, Mary Smith.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the United Methodist Children’s Home, 3140 Zelda Court, Montgomery, AL 36106-2607.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Oak Landing Assisted Living, McGuffey’s Health and Rehab Center and Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Dr. Kenny Smith, Dr. Willbon Bates, Dr. Wendy Gomez, Dr. Jason Junkins and Dr. Jared Warren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler.
