Gerald N. Brewer

Mr. Gerald N. Brewer, 78, Southside, AL passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel with visitation preceding the service beginning at noon. He will be laid to rest at Crestwood Cemetery.

Gerald was born September 8, 1944 to David Ollie and Grethel Lott Brewer. He grew up in East Gadsden and graduated from Gadsden City Schools. He went on to Jacksonville State University, where he was a member of the cheerleading squad.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of Southside United Methodist Church. He retired from GMAC as a financial supervisor and enjoyed playing golf.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Nell Brewer and sister, Juanita (Buddy) Humphries.

Gerald is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Jesus Gurrola, Jose Collin, Jose Monroy, Miguel Medrano, Gregory Barren and Tom Trimble.

Gerald was a shining example of what a gentleman should be.
