Gina Lynn Atkins

Gina was born July 12, 1966, in Gadsden. She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1984 and from the University of Alabama Huntsville in 1988. She was gifted in foreign language and had an amazing voice. She loved her family, friends, music and animals. She was truly blessed with an amazing group of friends.

Gina is survived by her son, James Mason Atkins; her father, Gary M. Atkins; her mother, Susie Junkins (Bobby); her sisters, Michele Atkins (Shelby Cochran), Amy Atkins Ward, Annie Junkins; her brother, Dr. Jason Junkins (Angela); her aunt, Tully Atkins; and aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Lamar Smith. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Grace Ward, Dylan Ward and Caitlin Clem; and her cousins, Jesse Smith and Andy Smith.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Gadsden at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013. Dr. Robin Norsworthy and the Rev. Harvey Beck will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, Gina requested memorials be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama at 1802 Sixth Ave. S., Birmingham, AL 35294, or to the Humane Society Pet Rescue Adoption Center at 4200 Brooke Ave, Gadsden, AL 35904.
